Singapore Cord Blood Bank Parents Consent Process

Consent Process

Synonym(s):

The consent process is mandatory for both cord blood donation and family banking. While registration can start from your 2nd trimester, the full consent process must be completed at least 2 weeks before your EDD. Make your decision early and let us guide you through making your informed choice.

Should you wish to consult our coordinators in-person, feel free to visit our office from 8.30am - 5.30pm on weekdays excluding public holidays.

The process can be completed in 3 simple steps:
Consent Process1
Speak to your ObGyn about your intention to store cord blood with SCBB Every pregnancy is different and your ObGyn will be able to advise if the condition of your existing pregnancy is suitable for cord blood collection. Collection will be done by your ObGyn, nurse or midwife on behalf of the SCBB.
Consent Process2
Register Online You may start to register for cord blood banking from your 2nd trimester onwards.
Consent Process3
Complete the Consent Process SCBB has strict criteria for cord blood storage to ensure all collected cord blood units meet the safe medical standard for cord blood transplants. Our staff will contact you to complete the Consent Form and Maternal Health Questionnaire. Parents who opt for Family Banking will also need to complete the Service Agreement.
Have a copy of the Consent Form with you. On the day of delivery, have a hard copy or screenshot of the endorsed Consent Form with you. Without it, staff will not proceed with cord blood collection.
