We Respect and Keep Your Data Safe
The Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) protects your personal data while enabling organisations to use your data reasonably to serve you. As Singapore’s public cord blood bank, we respect and keep your data safe by:
- collecting parents’ information solely for donor identification and communication purposes related to cord blood banking
- maintaining secure and indefinite links between maternal donor, infant donor and cord blood product
- restricting access to designated individuals only, in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012
- ensuring strict confidentiality of all identifiable information
- conducting regular checks to ensure that your personal data is only accessed by authorised persons, and
- removing details, as far as possible, that identify you when using your data for internal purposes.

- We never share identifiable information with Transplant Physicians
- We never share identifiable information with researchers
- We never publish identifiable information at scientific meetings
- We maintain secure systems to protect all stored personal data
- All data collection, use, storage and disclosure practices are governed by the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 and Healthcare Services (Cord Blood Banking Service) Regulations 2021, ensuring the highest standards of confidentiality while enabling the essential functions of cord blood banking.
