Be an SCBB Advocate
At the SCBB, our mission is to provide cord blood units of the highest quality and safety in order to facilitate a successful transplant. We aim to increase our number of banked cord blood units to 10,000 to provide a 60 - 80% chance of finding a match in Singapore.
By educating the public about cord blood donation, we hope to achieve an increased awareness amongst the public; especially, expectant mothers and their spouses on the need for cord blood donation. This urgent need to increase our targeted inventory is to be able to facilitate more transplants, offering a chance of survival to patients and hope to these patients and their families, when previously there was none.
Educational Talks for Schools, Organisations & the Public
We have conducted many Outreach Programmes including educational talks and tours at the SCBB premises and in schools like St. Patrick’s Secondary School, Raffles Junior College and Nanyang Polytechnic.
We have also been invited to share the word on cord blood donation to organisations like Barclays’, and at public talks at John Little, BHG and many more.
We have also been invited for various Medical and Nursing Continual and/or In-Service Education Programmes both in the re-structured hospitals; KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Singapore General Hospital and National University Hospital; and in the private hospitals; Thomson Medical Centre and Mount Alvernia Hospital.
